University Degree vs. College Degree
There are so many questions students have about college and this is another one. Is a university degree different than a college degree? Some students would rather to go a university as opposed to a college, but they probably want to do it because it sounds better.
What’s the Difference?
There really is not much of a difference. Universities tend to be larger with more schools within them, but if a college is offering your major and is accredited there is nothing that should be holding you back. You only need one section of your school in order to graduate with a degree so why pay more or travel further just so you can have the word university on your diploma. If you graduate from a college and not a university employers are not going to look down on you. They just want to see that you graduated from an accredited school and are prepared for the work that is ahead of you.
Is There More Work?
There is no more work at a university than at a college. It depends on the field you are going into but you should
expect the same amount of work from both. If there is a university that is known for what you want to go for and a college that is not so well-known for it, you might want to choose the university because that program might be more beneficial to you and vice versa. You want to make sure you are learning since you will be paying a lot of money to attend.
Do not just choose a school because it says university rather than college. No matter what field you are going into, there is a lot to learn so be sure to check out the curriculums before deciding which school to attend. If your choices are between a college and a university do not just pick the university because it has a ring to it. Really look into the schools and visit the campuses so you are making a wise decision. Do your research because this is only the beginning to the amount of research you will have to do within the next four years. Enjoy!
